Teens Wheel Week - August

$359.00
8 available

July 20th - 24th (Making: Mon-Fri) & July 30th (Glazing: following Thurs)

5 days of creativity on the potter’s wheel, for teens ages 12-16.

Taught by the talented Amelie Drewitz/Alana McDowell. Teens will come together in the mornings during the first week to learn the basics of making forms on the wheel including cups and bowls and other fun forms. Students will also learn how to trim, decorate, attach handles, and glaze their wheel thrown works. This summer camp is beginner friendly for those new to throwing on the wheel or working with clay, as well as suitable for returning students looking to refine and build upon skills by throwing larger or more complex forms under instructor guidance.

Dates/times:

July 20th - 24th (Monday - Friday): 10 am-12:30 pm

July 30th (Thursday): 4:30-6:30 pm

The first 3 classes will focus on throwing on the wheel and hand-building, the 4th & 5th classes will be for surface decoration, trimming and attaching handles, and the 6th class (held on the following Thursday to give time for pieces to dry and go through their first firing in the kiln) will be dedicated to glazing the work from the previous week.

8 participants maximum, 4 participants minimum to run the class (we reserve the right to cancel and offer full refunds under these circumstances, due to low enrollment).

Materials, tools, and aprons provided. Students can expect their pieces to be fired and ready for pick up in 2-4 weeks after the last class. We email the registering parent once everything is ready.

Missed Classes Policy & Cancellation Policy:

Please ensure you can commit to the entire class sequence at the time of purchasing. Makeup classes are not available. Please review the FAQ/Policy Page on our website for full details as cancellation policies apply.
