Clay Date - Wheel Workshop for 2-7 people
Clay Dates are a great way to dip your toe into ceramics without committing to a multi-week class. They’re a fun way to connect with others over a creative, hands-on activity. Perfect for lovers, friends, staff or family members. Think Anniversaries, Birthday celebrations, family hangs, staff parties, or classic date nights!
A Clay Date is 2 or 2.5-hours long, and is booked according to your group's preference and our instructor's availability. Booking at least 3 weeks in advance is recommended but not necessary, email us to inquire. The lesson price includes unlimited clay and use of all tools, trimming/finishing work by our staff, kiln firings, and glazes. Keep up to 5 pieces per person. Your group will get a demo, hands-on instruction, and guidance throughout.
No experience necessary. Students will learn what it takes to throw down on the wheel. One of our lovely instructors will guide your group through each step, focusing on the basics. You will learn to centre your clay, and how to throw cylinders, which are the foundation of all forms made on the wheel. (Small bowls, cups, etc.). Pieces will be carefully dried, trimmed, fired (twice), and glazed after the lesson by MUD staff.
Choose from a wide variety of glaze colours to finish your piece(s).
BYOB, if you'd like! We have a fridge and cups.
(2 people minimum, 7 people max). Ages 12+
$150 per person (2.5 hours, keep up to 4 pieces each)
$110 per person (2 hours, keep up to 2 pieces each)
Large groups of 6/7 people may choose to keep just 1 piece each for $90/person.
If you fall in love with more than your allotted amount of pieces - you may pay an extra $20 per piece for our staff to trim, glaze and fire for you :-)
Finished pieces will be ready in approximately 4-6 weeks from workshop date. We will email you with pick up hours.
